Very unhappy and never works
Very unhappy and never works. Also I was told in person I would have 30 days to cancel but when I double checked my contract I was only given a few days. Absolutely disgusting.

Fine until you have to cancel
Trying to cancel because my house is on the market, I no longer live there, there's no WiFi, and still they make it hard as hell to cancel. I was actually yelling at another human being! They will stick to their script no matter what, and the DO NOT LISTEN. Loved 'em unti the end.

Sales either mislead or incompetent of their products
Been a customer since 2023. We recently upgraded our system even though our old system was still good except for the doorbell camera went out just days prior to having sales show up to our door. Long story short, if you try and integrate some old cameras into the new system, they aren't all compatible. The indoor camera does not work despite what we were told. Additionally, one of the new cameras had an issue from install. We dealt with customer service and were little to no help in resolving the issue. Vivent wanted to charge $99 to send out a technician. That does not fly considering it was a new camera that was installed only a day previous to the issue. After some back and forth regarding the technician fee, they waived the fee. Customer Service tried to get us to buy their warranty, which we may do, but seems unnecessary for a brand new system. We had a great technician come out and fix the camera a few days later. At that time, the technician confirmed the old interior camera is not compatible unless we purchase a "tower", however, since we use several internet meshes for the home, he said that the tower may not work properly. So, we are still without an interior camera for our system which is important for us since we have pets. Overall, the system is fine, good quality, but expensive. Customer service could use some work and better training for sales should be addressed.

Ready for Simpli Safe (or anything else)
After being a customer for five years, I look forward to going with another home security company after my move to another state. Set up and installation were easy, but I've since realized that Vivint equipment is considerably more expensive than competitors without any significant performance differences. The app was a consistently mediocre experience. I'm very thankful I did not ever have an emergency where I needed to use it in a hurry, because the design kept changing so it was impossible to know where features were located. (and never really for the better). Now that I'm moving and canceling active monitoring, the process was difficult in ways that feel petty and unnecessary. For a company that works so hard to attain a sleek and modern brand, requiring that a customer has to speak to customer service, then send an email to request cancellation (that takes 30 days to process) is absurd.

Appointment to upgrade panel went bad. When the tech left, I had lost access to half my cameras, no ability to open my garage door, and no way to lock or unlock my front door.

Billing issues
The finance was approved then I had to pay install and equipment upfront and my monthly payment is double whatbit should be and nobody responds.

The installation doesn't look good or clean. It also damaged our house. I can send in photos too of screws used to push hold wires. Wires hanging loose and exposed wires to the plug in. Seems odd.
The installation doesn't look professional. We are doing upgrades to our home and this installation is actually pretty terrible.

They gave me an appointment for…
They gave me an appointment for Thursday the 14th I called them about 11:03 Thursday morning and was told I wasn’t scheduled for a technician to come out. My doorbell has been going off for about 2weeks every night around 8:30 and it’s goes off from that time until about 6:00 the next morning I had to cut my notifications off because it has been going off for 2 weeks it only does it at night never during the day. I’m very disappointed with Vivint for lying and said that they tried to contact me and I didn’t answer they called I answered and they hung up I called the number back and it was Vivint I told them someone had called and hung up. I told them if it was about my appointment I wanted to keep it. Then the day they were scheduled to come I was told I didn’t have an appointment. I would never tell anyone to get Vivint. My sister had been done the same way and I referred her to you all and everytime they were scheduled to come they never showed up that went on for a year. Very disappointed ☹️

Been a loyal customer for about 12…
Been a loyal customer for about 12 years. But over the years the cost for products has gotten extremely expensive. Almost 3 times what others offer. Sadly we switched providers. When you go to cancel service they repeatedly try to offer you offers to stay. Even doing some in-house financing/loan. But I just wanted to cancel. They are VERY persistent on offering you a loan to stay. Why would anyone take out a loan for your overpriced equipment? It just confirmed my cancelation as the right move. Vivint has gotten too big and thinks it can do whatever it wants with cost. Sorry there are other companies that offer just as good of service and products for a third of the price.

Liars
I was told by the sales rep that they would pay off my current adt contract but gave me no way to give the pay off information when I didn't have it on hand. Told me install would take an hour, took 4. Told me I was in a lifetime warranty where there are no service charges for a tech coming out but on the follow up call they told me that's not true you have to pay for that to be included or it's $100 a visit just for them to drive out. Also was not informed that I'd basically be taking out a personal loan for the equipment just that there would be a "soft credit pull"

When I first called to get a quote for…
When I first called to get a quote for outdoor cameras. I mentioned that I only wanted a door bell camera and cameras for outside, I didn’t want the indoor system, they installed it anyway. I’m not 100% sure I am correct on this but I think the garage door opener control system was adjusted because it’s been acting weird since that day they was there, the man who installed everything told me he would call me the next morning to check in on things, he didn’t call and I even sent him a text a few days after and no response.

Customer Service Wasn’t Great
I like Vivint and the technology they offer. I’ve been a customer for a couple of years now, and overall the system works great. However, the biggest issue I have is with their customer service. About 3 months ago, I purchased a smart lock through Vivint, and it recently started failing. The number keypad and locking mechanism stopped working completely. When we called to get it replaced, we were told we had to pay $80 for a replacement lock and another $50 for someone to come install it. I don’t think that’s right, especially when customers are already paying a monthly subscription for the service. It feels like they are always trying to make extra money off loyal customers instead of standing behind their products. We even spoke with a supervisor, but unfortunately we received the same response with no real effort to help us. Vivint has great technology, but their customer service and support policies really need improvement for the people who continuously pay for their service every month.

Where to start
Where to start, half of the options that they give do not work! The ask AI feature is a joke, finds nothing you request, cameras do not capture everything even if you’re standing directly in front of them! The Spotlight feature works half the time as well, and the follow light never works. Had I known I was paying $4000 for these cameras I would’ve never purchased, but you don’t know this until after install.

My installation went terrible
My installation went terrible, 9hours and still didn't complete full installation. Second appointment was cancelled and I wasn't informed. Third appointment was a different tech so he wasn't aware of what happen.

Well the sensor on the front door shows…
Well the sensor on the front door shows my door is always open when it's closed, I've text the guy who installed it, and so far no answer? The camera on the side needs adjusting and well still waiting for an answer

Overall dissatisfied with this security solution
Unable to change Wi-Fi connections to cameras. The keyless door handle is not functioning properly with the numeric keypad. When changing configurations, often a reboot of the panel is needed. Doornob could not be installed with a steel sleeve that went around the deadbolt and doornob. The trial period is extremely short to decide whether or not you want to continue this service. Vivant is sending out a tech to hopefully resolve these issues, but I am assuming that, for the technical-related issues, this system will be an ongoing issue going forward. I do wish I had stayed with ADT.
