I am giving this a 2 because the 1st installer was horrible. He didnt show me anything but the 2nd installer was Awesome. He showed me how to work the panel and my phone app. The phone app doesnt work on my Iphone or my Android.
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED
The initial setup was great but, after a year or so I had problems with my doorbell camera. They wanted to instruct me on how to fix it over the phone instead of sending someone out. I called several times same thing. Needless to say it was never fixed. I got so frustrated that I just said forget it. One day I noticed a$41 late fee on my bill. I looked & I was 3 days late and you tacked on $41 That was the last straw! I've been a long time faithful customer and when I complained nothing! So I cancelled my account with zero concern on their end. I guess $41 is more important than a loyal customer. Anyway I say that to say this, in my experience I was only important while they were trying to earn my business after they got my business I was an afterthought. If you want great customer service avoid them. They want you to be the technician!

I am also unhappy with being told yesterday that I will have to wait over a week to have a sensor mailed to me, and that I will have to install it myself and also worry about programming it. This should be done by your tech, so Vivint has been a disappointment.

Rescheduled Home Install
I had received an email stating I'd receive $200 dollars off equipment and it was confirmed via text with a representative, Scott but didn't get it. I was also told by Scott/Kody that they can convert our usable sensor from ADT. "We have a module the technician uses to integrate ADT sensors. I'll notate the account so that they bring it out." However, they didn't notate my account because my tech didn't bring the module. He knew nothing about it. I also gave specific instructions regarding where I wanted my motion sensor and it was not relayed to the tech. Overall, more complicated than it needed to be and an extreme lack of communication internally within the company.

Deceptive Sales Practices
Salesman was nice and informative and wrote down what I'd be charged.
Installation was to be started that night, which seemed a bit weird. Looking back, it effectively removes any time to think about the whole deal and greatly reduces the chance of my canceling during the 30 day cancelation period. Too much hardware was installed. DECEPTIVE more than any kind of a positive!
The amount the salesman wrote down that I'd be charged for the first 60 days was $ 1.48 . Well, they took that out of my checking account immediately but they also took $ 215.43 out the same day. I called and billing could not tell me what that larger amount was for. After an hour on the phone, complaining, their "Loyalty Department" said they would refund that charge. Instead, I received a refund of $ 149.55. Another hour on the phone did not result in a refund of the remaining part of the of the original $215.43 or any explanation of what the charge was for to begin with!
I canceled Vivint's access to my checking account but had to give them a credit card number to get that done. They insist on auto-charging and do not allow the customer the ability to decide how much and when to pay them.
I've decided to get a "No Solicitations" sign and never do business with door to door sales people ever again!

The experience with the last technician who installed the cameras in my house was very negative, very unprofessional and the installation was frankly very unprofessional and leaving boxes and screws everywhere was a plus. Thanks to that installation, the camera in front of the house does not work correctly. I forgot to say that he broke part of the siding on my house and asked not to be reported and said he would come to fix it but he never did.

Facing issues with video Doorbell
Facing issues post installation of doorbell, it keeps losing connectivity. Have not received any follow up calls from Vivint to inquire if the devices are working ok, customer support definitely needs to improve.
Reliant Promo fail
Tech added monthly protection plan of $7.99/month. Had to call to get it removed. Promo given by Reliant stated $0 cost. Camera gets very hot after installation. Called to have camera checked, was told it will be a cost of $99 for tech to come and look since pro plan was removed. Camera had just been installed 5 days ago.
Second issue, Vivint has only one thermostat model and apparently is not compatible with our system, common issue many customers experience I was told when asked for a compatible thermostat. So Reliant promo of free camera and thermostat now becomes a hot to touch camera with no warranties and no thermostat.
Doesn't always connect
Doesn't always connect, hardly ever get notifications to my phone, the app goes down, the app takes forever to do anything in the setting.
Installation technician was Awful!!
The technician was terribly late, very unprofessional and he installed my keypad right in the middle of my TV wall and refused to come fix it!! I am very frustrated with the installation process! I am enjoying the actual service itself, but I definitely would NOT recommend this service to anyone because of the installation!!
Everything went wrong
Everything went wrong. The lady who signed me up lied, the guy who installed my system left and half my system doesn’t work. I’ve spent hours on the phone with customer service. They are sending me a repair kit that I have to install myself. This is the worst product I’ve ever purchased.
Application does not refresh
Applications has a great look and simple but it does not communicate with devices well,
Initially set up not so great, application would not communicate with doorbell took us around 20 minutes for the initial setup since application was timing out after device detected, tech had to reboot device so many time and he said is kind of normal timing out but after that communication was good. now about thermostat, does not display true temperature even after closing application and opening it. App displays correct temperature when I increase or decrease one degree then I see it, thermostat overall is a jock, not smart at all, missing many features from true smart thermostat such as, monitor each room, schedule is useless, I can not disable leave or away since I work from home and never leave. I can not modify, one or two degree gap to turn on or off so my AC now turns on so many times in one day, it is working like my OLD mercury thermostat, my house is a smart home and my regret is the thermostat. My other thermostat was way superior that this one. I hope you fix your application and make thermostat smart 🤣

I was pressured to have everything installed on a day and time that was not ideal for me. (Same day I was talked into it by someone I have never seen again)
Having strange men show up to install things in your home after 8pm when you are a single woman is not a good experience AT ALL. I had asked that it happen the following day.

At first, I was amazed. My first camera security system. It's been almost 2 years and I cannot wait until my contract is up!! The service is so laggy and the app works when it wants to. I have top tier internet in my home and somehow I cannot see my cameras on the app. It just loads and loads and loads and loads, well you get the point. I have reset the hub and cameras just to be able see my cameras!! And even then, it is no guarantee that it will work! Customer service is no help. They just continually remind you that you have so much time in the contract. If you are in the market for high tech camera/security system, DO NOT give these guys your hard earned money! Once my contract is over, I may just get a RING system. Service is smoother than this. SMH. Buyer beware!
