Trying to access the app online (not mobile) and adding a user is not very user friendly. The reset password link if never sent, and when the added user receives thier invite for the mobile app, they receive an invalid error message.

new upgrade financing with old financing not explained at all
We’ve had our Vivint system for quite some time and are still paying off about $2,000 through Citizens Bank for the original equipment. Recently, a Vivint sales rep approached my husband about upgrading our system.
Unfortunately, the upgrade was not explained clearly. What we later realized is that we would still owe the remaining $2,000 on our current loan, while also taking on an additional $1,500 through a separate financing company for the upgraded equipment.
There was nothing wrong with our existing system, so adding more debt didn’t make sense—especially when it was presented as a way to “save money.” From where we stand, we are now paying more, not less.
This experience has been very frustrating and feels misleading. At this point, we’re so unhappy that we’ve even considered having the entire system removed.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and poor customer service.
I'm trying to add a Vivint system
I'm trying to add a Vivint system. They were helpful when I called to place the order. I was told I would get a phone call to schedule a date/time. Instead, I got an email with a date and time when we are not around. The email has a button you can click to reschedule but this doesn't work. I've used their chat and spent a long time going back and forth. I called the service number and gave them dates I'm around but two days later I still don't have a date. It seems like something that could be resolved easily. I use Vivint on another home and it has been great. I'd like to use it on this place but I'm getting tired of reaching out to customer service and not getting a date or a phone call back to schedule.
Older Homes Not Compatible
We have an older home and the installer put a new hole in a place one would not put a hole for a wire. It is done but we did not like having to put something over it to hide the hole and wire. The camera works fine but cosmetically, it's aweful.

The system is very basic the sound when speaking to someone is horrible. My chime does not let you know when someone is getting close to my home like my ring i had.

I am a new customer to Vivint.
The outdoor camera connected to my garage stopped working a few days ago.
I have followed every direction provided to reboot.
My telephone call to Customer Service was very unpleasant.
The call took 35 minutes to request a technician for a nonfunctioning outdoor camera ( less than one week since original installation).
The representative was extremely slow in questioning me regarding my trouble shooting efforts.
His speech is very hard to understand ( I had to ask him to repeat things). And he did not seem to be intuitively knowledgeable about my tech problem.
In addition to my discomfort is dealing with this person, the constant and loud background noise of his work place was miserable to have to hear throughout my 35 minutes of trying to get a service call scheduled!!!
I hope that any future calls that I may be making to Customer Support will be less upsetting.

Horrible outsourced customer service! Five yr customer here & Waited five months for a tech to mitigate door lock / my safety not their concern only my $$.

The installation guy Marquise passed with flying colors, however, in a few days, the doorbell went offline. The service tech arrived outside of the 4 hour window. He seemingly fixed the problem, then went and sat in his truck to give it some time to see if the problem was truly resolved. I finally had to go to his truck and get him (after he surpassed his 10 minutes) so that I could tell him that I had kids to pickup. So all and all the service tech did poorly. Aside from that, the doorbell goes on and offline quite a bit. It often freezes when I’m doing a two way talk. I’m regretting that we got rid of the original doorbell camera from Alert360 which worked so much better than this Vivint thing.

expect to pay more for monitoring once you pay off your security equipment/not to mention their camera's are constantly going offline and then having to reboot them /or the panel and vivint has the worst CS, wait times are loooong and then you get a person at the other end whose english is barley understandable, and their app is junk in dire need of upgrade
The system works okay, but they are some crooks
The system works okay, however, they are some crooks. They do not uphold to the contract. They have lied and do not remember their lies. It is awful. Called them to cancel contract. I told them that when I started services with them in 2022, by bill would go down to 59 a month once the equipment was paid off. I was told that the equipment should be paid off in 1 year. That did not happen. Vivint was taking $70 out of my account since service started in 2022. I called in November 25 to inform them of their agreement in 2022. The guy stated that he would offer a $10 deduction off until the end of my contract, which was April 2026. I did not hear this guy stated that my contract would be extended another 3 years if I accept the $10 off a month. Guess what, they continued to take the $70 out of my account. I called them today to cancel it because of this. I was told they pulled the recording and I accepted a 36 month agreement. BUT YOU GUYS STILL TOOK OUT THE $70. They did not uphold to their word, which they never do. Now, they are saying they can give me a $40 credit and the representative was trying to go back and change the contract. Then they had the nerve to say, they will continue to bill me for monthly service until the end of my contract if I did not pay the early termination fee even though I am going to switch companies.
Good tech, crappy support
Overall I like the tech. Biggest problem is the hub loses touch with devices and needs to be rebooted. Usually fixes. Tonight I closed open windows but the system did't recognize somehow. Also there was a low battery on a CO2 sensor. I changed them, but the hub still refuled to see the open sensors were closed. Set of the alarm. Been on hold for 25 minutes. Not great.
All about the money
Wanted to share my experience i had with them today. A sensor fell off one of my doors and the insides were no where to be found. Contacted then via the chat, and was told that it would 50.00 to replace plus 4.95 shipping. I was then told that our system could be updated by ordering new sensors for all doors. Each one was 50.00. I told them they were pricing their product to where we, living on SS, could no longer afford them and that i would need to cancel service all together. All of a sudden, all the parts we have were covered at 100%. Hmmm. Help make sense of that. They seem to be all about the 💵 dollar and not those of us who overpaid for this system in the first place. I may be getting old, but im far from stupid. Just beware. There are much more affordable options.

can move on with my RV life setting me back 3 months. I could have purchased out right ,5 fully camera plug and play systems at the price I've wasted on them. NVR again if you hear of VivInt....RUN! Shop around get something you can own and utilize especially with different security companies. You will never own the equipment out right as you can only use with vivint. They are monopolizing the system with the equipment they don't tell you this. I will say the equipment is made really well but other than that. It's pointless to own it since you can't go anywhere else with it. I tried to work with them wanting to get a canceled contract due to RV life and not having internet but they don't care. Contracts are binding so....avoid at all cost or you'll be in my shoes. Hope this helps before you sign your life away for 3 years plus

All misleading
The numbers that the sales girl showed and said doesn't match what im actually billed for. She also said that you can clearly see license plate numbers and that was one of her sales tactics and after installation this is not true you really cant see anything. Its very difficult to get all the paperwork stating all the prices and theres supposedly a certificate that can be downloaded to show the insurance company and so far I cant find it so thats imaginary too. I shouldn't have gone with it or fell for her " this is your only chance" bullshit.

This company is a scam! They tell you its gonna be a set price, then tell you something different as your signing for it, and then charge you different went the payment goes through! Im writing a two star review instead of a one because I heard they are harder to erase or bury! We tried canceling multiple times because things kept breaking and stopped working and they basically refused to cancel and sent maintenance men out to fix things that didnt know what they were doing and it never got fixed! After pleading to work something out and getting ignored we just stopped paying and now they're trying to take us to court! If you are reading this PLEASE DO NOT GET THIS COMPANY'S SYSTEM NO MATTER HOW NICE THEY MAKE IT SEEM!

BUYER BEWARE - if you need to cancel, they make it as difficult as possible. I spent over a half hour being patient with all their counter offers, speaking to a few different people who kept lowering the price of this and that. If you don't need or want the system, you will waste precious time with them trying to keep you as a customer.
IF YOU WANT A CHEAPER PRICE and are willing to waste some time, you can go back and forth with them in order to get a lower price, free technician service, whatever.
There are other options out there that are not gonna waste your time like these guys do.
