Not impressed!
Installation took about six hours from 4-10pm on a week day evening and approximately 1 the following afternoon technician didn’t not speak English and I didn’t speak Spanish so there was a communication issue. The doorbell was installed in the wrong place. I have no idea how to work the front door key pad or how to program it. I’m still waiting for a smoke alarm (which is out of stock)???? and I missing a broken glass sensor. My garage and thermostat were supposed to be integrated to the alarm but aren’t. Because the technician and I didn’t speak the same language he was unable to show me how to use the alarm system or any of its functions. The rep that I used during purchase didn’t show up for a follow up appointment to explain the system. Not impressed!

I urge you to consider my experience. I had to reach out to customer service on two occasions due to my mistake of initially indicating that I had a billing problem with the representative, who subsequently asserted that they "could not verify my identity". As a result, I terminated the call, redialed, and immediately asked them to verify my identity before revealing my issue. I have been a Vivint customer since August 25. Although I value the technology, one of the cameras malfunctioned shortly after installation, and they charged an additional monthly service fee of $9 to resolve the problem. After the camera was repaired, my bill increased nearly threefold; they did not honor the amount they had quoted me when I signed the contract. I hope this information will assist someone in making a decision about whether to choose Vivint in the future.

Install OK, but equipment financing paperwork never submitted.
My equip was installed by a very qualified technician on 20 Feb 2026. However, after completing all paperwork w/the appropriate signatures, the equipment financing loan w/Bread Financial has yet to be completed & forwarded from Vivint TO Bread. It's been a week & I've made numerous attempts w/both Vivint AND Bread Financial to get this issue cleared up, but it's still remains to be completed. I would like to pay Vivint what I owe on the equipment, but your personnel say that's not possible since I signed to finance through Bread. However, Bread still has NO paperwork on the loan application FROM Vivint, so they maintain that they cannot help me until paperwork is complete. Very, very frustrating to me, the customer!
Ripped off
Needed a new sign. Sign cost $10 which is too high and then charged $10 for shipping which probably cost $3 to mail. Feel ripped off.

The doorbell camera was just an afterthought.
It's far too busy taking pictures of waving flags; racoons at night and every time I am in and out of the house which can be 20-30 times daily. There are no clear instructions on how to delete all of pictures daily or in one total deletion of all pictures stored. It is most frustrating and a waste of my serenity otherwise.

Bad costumer service
I was told I only had to pay for first month and then was billed another 135 dollars a week later . Called and have still not gotten an answer as to why and nothing fixed . Already thinking of canceling the service.
Installed Without Necessary Equipment
I had a security system installed on February 9, 2026 by Vivint, and unfortunately, it has not functioned properly since installation.
The dimensions of my home were known prior to install, yet I was later told that an extender is required for the system to work correctly. Since installation, I’ve experienced constant error warnings and the system beeps every few minutes, making it disruptive and frustrating to live with. I am now being told the necessary extender is on back order, and that the last available extender was used just days before my installation.
I strongly feel the system should not have been installed if all required components were not available to complete a proper and functional setup. I am currently paying for a system that I cannot use as intended and am still waiting for the extender to make it operational.
This has been a very disappointing experience, and I hope this issue is resolved quickly.
The app was not that good at loading
The app was hit or miss , mainly miss. I would get notifications of activity but as soon as I tried to view it it would not load.
Not feeling confident about this security company.
The installation was ok, and the system seems to be working, but follow-up customer service has been abysmal. Our installer neglected to leave us with signs and window decals. Two appointments were made for a technician to bring them to our home, but no one ever called or came by. Also, we were told that Vivint would buy out our contract with ADT, but again, nothing has happened, even though I called about it. I may have to cancel because of the lousy service and unkept promises.
Good equipment but less than customer service
I have the app but can’t log in, don’t know how to access my cameras on my phone! I am still waiting for the return label for my old camera that was supposed to be provided and it’s been 2 weeks! Every time I try the forgot my password to get an email, the email never comes!

I having hearing problems and war hearing aids. I can not hear the door bell. Contacted the intaller at his request if I had a problem. My dogs don't hear the doorbell either since we are in the back of the house and the door bell is by the front door

Sales people and install people should be on the same page, sales people told me one thing and once installed it was opposite of what sales person had told me.

My system was offline. All 3 cameras went offline got no reason. I was unable to speak live to support. Chat conversation was uneventful and no resolution. The main camera is still off line and still no assistance. I regret switching from my old alarm company.
Original problem was a low battery…
Original problem was a low battery alarm on a window sensor. My windows were hard wired. To calls to a tech on the phone only proved frustrating. 3 weeks before a tech could come trouble shoot. I pay for a warranty on my equipment. The window sensors are no longer supported and will need to be replaced. Not covered under Warranty. replaced the window sensors and now I cannot control one of the ceiling fans through Vivint as I could before. Was told Vivint no longer supports smart devices. No fault of the Tech. He is new and not trained on older equipment. I now also have a camera that will not come back online. Very dissatisfied!

Well the install is not finished and they say it’s going to be an other week before they can come out so I’m paying for a system that is not finished and there are two door coming into the home that don’t have the sensors installed so I’m really not protected at all

Products are good but the customer service before installation wasn’t great. I was misled and uninformed about things that I did not find out about until the install. The installation process was good although he was several hours late. But he kept me informed and communicated about being late. What was a 12 to 4 window ended up being a 5 PM to 9 PM on a Saturday night installation that I wasn’t prepared for but regardless it needed to be done. Also I was not informed ahead of time about certain costs and certain procedures that possibly would have changed my decision from the beginning.
