No thermostat as was advertised. Thermostat was said to be incompatible with our system. I want all Vivint uninstalled and removed from our home.
I am so disappointed with Vivint
I am so disappointed with Vivint. I wish I had followed my instincts and went with another carrier. I have had nothing but issues with this system and after talking to various reps, they all tell me something different. As I type my garage door opens, but do not close. Just not up to calling again so I just use front door n don’t park in garage for now. They told me I needed to up grade, paying for that now n still issues. Just a 72 year old frustrated customer. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
The sales lady mislead me
The sales lady mislead me. She said after 90 days I could drop the service and just pay for the equipment so my bill would be about $37 a month. Customer Service informed me that my system wouldn't work without the service so my bill is going to be about $67-70 per month. Didn't really want to spend that much. Should have just went with Ring.

The installation technician was extremely professional and very knowledgeable but the customer service technician that was helping me with the problem i was very professional also the problem I had was I couldn't understand him very well and even though I felt like he was trying his best to help me it was very aggravating to me and I felt uncomfortable because I just couldn't understand him very well

The gentleman who showed up was very nice and professional, but did not have the equipment to do the job properly. We scheduled him to come back in two days, he did not show up or call. Monday I will be getting in touch with and the company to come fix this situation immediately.

The technician needs to pay attention to where he is connection the system. He connected it to the garage lights and every time we turn the lights off the system turns off. So we are paying for a system we can't use.

The warranty only cover if it’s a defective product, not if someone breaks in and destroys the product. I’m stuck paying for cameras and monitoring that’s not available.If I had knowledge of this info, ADT or someone else would have been my choice.
Day 1 of install the installer throws…
Day 1 of install the installer throws out his back. Nice man but bad luck.
A week later new service man appears completed install in 2 days. Very nice guy.
Day 4 with system power outage causes all cameras and routers off line. Nothing works. Tech support guided me for an hour. I stopped them when they asked me to take apart the key pad and demanded they come out and fix or remove from home.
Tomorrow they are supposed to come. Customer tech made it out like he’s doing me a favor by not charging me. Ridiculous!!
Problem has not been resolved
Problem has not been resolved. The tech rep goes back to it being a connectivity issue when cameras further away from the wi fi router do not have the issue.

Almost every day for the past three months I have had to reboot my smart hub, unplug my camera or reset my router. And every day for two months every morning my front camera is offline or the smart hub is staying discovering camera. I have been with vivint since 2019 and every single time they are charging $99 service fee for something they should have addressed from the initial installment. Sad part about it all the last 5 times I've contacted Vivint no one could help me and had to figure it out myself. I even had to program my own garage my Q... but again they offered me a $99 service fee for some one to come out... Highly Disappointed with my service over the past two years 😒😕
Security Camera Issue Only Days After Install - Disappointed
The installation technician was great. However just 3 days after install the Vivint security camera went offline. We troubleshooted following app instructions to no avail.
I called Vivint. They ended up instructing me to completely remove the camera from the app. Nothing came from the help. We are without the security camera. Very frustrating to experience this so soon after install and being a new customer

My system has not ‘integrated’ with MyQ app. My installer was professional & efficient. I’m disappointed there are no wireless doorbell cameras?! Really.
Smoke and Mirrors Scam of a Company
This company is the absolute worst and I regret the decision to go with this company. They were deceptive with me during installation regarding their zero percent finance of equipment. They never told me that exercising this option automatically forces me in to a 60 month contract with this company. I really trusted the installer and took him at face value and fault myself for doing so and not reading the contract. Note- After the install and signing of contact you will NEVER speak to a US based repres native again. Anytime I call their outsourced customer services I get a runaround. It usually takes 3-5 calls or chats to get anything resolved. I’ve had my system malfunction as a result of what reps have done when trying to resolve another issue. I’ve had them discontinue the chat when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I’ve had them assure me of no charge for an issue and then within weeks I get a bill for the same issue. I am so disappointed in myself for not doing my homework. I had service with this company many years ago and like most things it is absolutely not the same company. This company is a scam and makes it impossible to get anyone on the phone or by chat that has any integrity or authority to make necessary changes when needed. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!

The app is horrible. Been having multiple issues since install. Had to call a few times and even the service rep i couldn't hear and understand. My Live feeds keep showing black, my main camera isn't working already, and my rear camera hasn't detected anything for 10 days with people in the detection zone.

I am highly dissatisfied with my recent Vivint installation. Despite having the system for only a few days and carrying an active insurance plan, one camera remains completely non-functional.
The customer support experience has been remarkably poor. Reaching a representative is difficult, and the troubleshooting protocols provided are either inadequate or require tedious repetition without results. I have initiated contact twice regarding these issues, yet I have received no follow-up from the company. Given the lack of reliable hardware and the unresponsive service, I cannot recommend this system.

Poor quality equipment
So my wife and I have had Vivint for over 6yrs happy with the service part, but we are unhappy with the equipment that cost us thousands of dollars and of course we were on the monthly payment plan for 60 months and we paid it off actually early well the cameras started to go out not picking up people walking in front of them or even recording so I keep calling tech support and all they keep saying REBOOT so I do that still messing up so a tech person comes out and said nothing is wrong with the equipment told him are you smoking on something they are not working how about you replace them and he looked at me and said it will cost you I told him to leave and told him Vivint just lost a customer I’m not paying another thousands of dollars again. My neighbors are thinking of doing the same which I told them to do Vivint doesn’t care if they lose a few customers anyway.

Beware! I do not recommend this company at all. Incredibly deceptive sales tactics. Even at installation, the technician had worked about 3.5 hrs and installed items before telling us that he couldn’t install the item that we wanted- he knew it was what we requested and we wouldn’t have moved forward if he had told us that he couldn’t install it. The equipment price is exorbitant- could have purchased it significantly cheaper. Was locked in to a 5 year contract. Have been trying to cancel since September. They advised a 3-mo pause because we were in the process of selling our house and moving. At the end of 3 months tried to cancel and they said they would contact the new owner to transfer account. And they would refund the December payment during the process. The new owners declined so tried to cancel again- then they said had to do it in writing to get a receipt of cancellation and need 30 day notice. They didn’t refund my December payment and due to 40 days also charged for January even though it was 3 days and supposed to be prorated. The equipment itself is okay, almost every piece had to be replaced at some point due to failure. A sensor in the garage failed and they couldn’t replace it because it now required a 3rd party replacement and to get that I had to agree to extend our contract for 2 more years. We declined so the remote garage door opener no longer works. When anything stops working you have to call for information and do it yourself they won’t send a technician for repairs or installing replacement parts. Also goes through a lot of batteries.
Fly by nite operation
A guy shows up around 5 pm and want show me this great deal on a security system. He shows me some features and items I could get for this special price. I thinking this would be great to get this system for $1499 I thinks that’s a great price so I say ok and he says let’s get started. He needed my Drivers license and before I know it says “wow I’ve never seen it come back like this, your approved,” for what I ask. It seems he ran my credit for the equipment charge and was approved for $4000. And then he has me signing some documentshe had me download to my phone. What happened to the $1499? I ask for some sort of brochure so that I can think about it. He said you’re good. Then he has me signing more documents a 72 dollar a month charge for “monitoring” I got him to come down to $49 dollars a month so that’s the price I’m ok with. Don’t worry you have 30 days to cancel. Y this time it’s getting late 7:45pm, it’s late, I’m tired, I’m hungry so he leaves. I have dinner and by the time Iget the dishes done it’s 9 pm and there’s a knock at the door and there’s a guy with a ladder to install my system. Who works into the night?? He finished around 9:45pm. And wow I got a new Vivant system that I know nothing about. He gave me a short “ you do this and that, then do this and if that doesn’t work you do this speech” I got about 30% of what he said. I figured it out sort of. In the end I was notified be a finance company Fortuna that my credit bill was 4k and $68 a month plus the monitoring fee of $49 was just too much. I was able after 4 calls to customer service and an “Investigation” get them to reduce the equipment charge to $1700 but for some reason the monthly monitoring charge had to go up to $69 a month. Lots of numbers were thrown around as well as reasons that didn’t make any sense to me.
I think the sales guy ran my credit and charged me all of it for a “Home Run” sale. 4k is double even triple of what I can buy and do myself and the $69 a month charge for monitoring is double what other companies like ADT and Brinks charge. I should have done some prior research. But I was hungry, tired and allowed myself to get fast talked by a sales guy. My bad. I have a system that I feel a bit safer in my home. In short it’s a 6, 7 🤷♂️
Always trying to make more money off…
Always trying to make more money off me. Some of the equipment works well, some doesn't, and it's all pretty expensive. The monitoring service is ok but our smoke detectors were constantly alerting and with every false alert I would get a text trying to get me to refer my friends. Just got new equipment installed 3 months ago, it's already going haywire and their customer service response was to charge me $100 for a tech visit or try to upsell me on a protection plan. Don't use this company.
