The system has issues with internet…
The system has issues with internet connectivity (according to the customer service rep). My smart hub is 12-16 feet from the control panel (plugged directly to the router of course) both along the same wall. The router has a singal extender as well. I am unable to rewind on either of the two cameras. I spent 2.5 hours in a chat session, jumping through hoops, plugging and unplugging, and nothing. I was told it will take a while for the system to allow for the rewinding of live feed. I was then also advised that if that does not fix it to reach back out to them... Why?!? What did we not try in the 2+ hours that we can try on a call back? Disappointed to say the least. Thinking they (Vivint) would be better than my previous security company (lol). They were/are both horrible.

The installation guy professional and…
The installation guy professional and got the doorbell and thermostat installed. The installation interferes with my adt alarm and camera operation. Called the adt and my system worked, To my surprise the doorbell failed to function due to no power. I called Vivint and your remote helper couldn’t get it done because tha doorbell was not getting any power. I was not supplied a screw driver to open the door bell and I have to wait five days before my doorbell can work. I sent a text to the installer with no response from him and phone call was not returned. If regrets removing my Ring that has been working for 8 years without any issues.

This whole process has been a mess
This whole process has been a mess. First the product was not put in correctly to start. Second time the person was supposed to come> the appt was cancelled by you and no one told me in any form, email, phone call or anything and I stayed home waiting and third time they came and put it in and I asked for the billing to start from then and that did not get changed.

Installers need to ask homeowners questions before drilling
The installers were nice but late, a couple of hours, to our appt first of all. They also need to ask the homeowners where they want everything installed before drilling holes into our walls. For instance for our back yard camera installation they used a plug right above our kitchen sink with the wires running up the walls. Doesn't look very appealing at all.

The installation was disgusting
The installation was an absolute nightmare. Over 7hrs, extremely poor work, had to borrow my tools, left mid appointment for an hour to go get a battery charger, left loose wire hanging in garage door track, and forgot the signage as part of our package. Customer service was receptive but there has been no accountability and a very feeble attempt to make things right for us.

Been with the for over 10 years
If you have been with them for a while be aware they do not stand behind their equipment! They will tell you it’s outdated and you have to buy new equipment because they don’t have the equipment that was installed initially!

Smart Hub voice/sound notifications
Smart Hub Sound: The sound toggle is activated for " voice" when the system is Armed/Disarmed. The voice notification was not functioning today( 1/1/26). Rebooted the hub to no avail. Security system was installed 12/19/2025. Three(3) reboots to the hub since initial install date, including mine. The Doorbell doesn't send the chosen sound notifications when detecting motion within the outlined parameters through the Hub. The toggle button is in the correct position for that to happen. Not what we were expecting...

The new inside camera won’t connect and…
The new inside camera won’t connect and the camera already here missed one time of getting something that could have cost us thousands. We are really disappointed in what we decided to put in our home and business. Lost more money due to vivint not helping without two hour phone calls and we been your best customer. Smh

Billing Issue Still Unresolved After Weeks
I am giving Vivint two stars. One star is for the equipment and app, which work well. The second star is for the technician who installed the system, who was professional and did a good job. Unfortunately, the customer service experience has been extremely poor. At the time of sale, the salesperson I worked with, Alysa, agreed to waive the $199 installation fee. Despite this, I was charged $199 in two separate payments. I contacted Vivint immediately, but weeks later the issue is still unresolved. I have spoken with approximately five different people, including members of the so called “white glove” team. A couple of them followed up, but none were able to fix the issue. I am repeatedly told they are waiting on confirmation or that the salesperson must correct the charge, yet she does not respond. There is no clear ownership or accountability. What makes this more frustrating is that while my billing issue remains unresolved, sales representatives have attempted to upsell additional products and services. Being sold to while an existing problem goes unfixed is incredibly off putting. Vivint’s equipment is good but expensive. The customer service, however, has been unacceptable. If Vivint wants to resolve this, I am simply asking for the incorrect installation charges to be reversed and for clear follow through.

Terrible Cancellation Process
I thought I would give them good reviews but they really screwed up the transfer and cancellation of service. They mistakenly duplicated an account on the same address I was moving from and instead of canceling my account they continued to charge me even though I cancelled through the phone. So BEWARE of the cancellation process. Make sure you document everything or else they will tell you that they don’t have anything on record and you have to wait two months to cancel.

Terrible install experience
Install two full days for 8 cameras, a door bell, a few glass breaks and CO/smoke alarms and a few door locks. Technician was at my house from 10 am until I had to politely ask him to leave at midnight. I felt like this was extremely inconsiderate. I had put my young kids to bed around 9 and he was still trying to go in and out of their rooms for different things. In that time, he didn’t even have the 8 cameras installed. He was planning to work through the night on my equipment, but was on the phone all day instead of working on the install. The next day, it took him from 9am to 3pm to wrap up the install. Everything on my house was pre-wired and he even told me it was the easiest install he’s had in a long while. I can’t make that make sense… After getting everything installed, I go into the attic and it looks like a spider web of wires everywhere. No organization with how things were run and no cleanliness for wrapping them up neatly after the install; just wires everywhere. The system works good enough, but he tried upselling all kinds of things we don’t need. The things that were installed are not even labeled properly on the panel though. I was also left with tons of boxes with all kinds of trash to get rid of in both my attic and my living room. He didn’t offer to take any of the boxes and left them in case I decided to send everything back, which I thought was an odd thing to do… Products are nice and work fine. The quality is not to caliber I expected though. The workmanship and overall experience were far less than desirable.

Failures upon failures
Expect your cameras to regularly go offline, expect your install technician to complete only 70% of his assigned/scheduled tasks (he will lie to you stating everything has been completed when in truth it hasn't), oh and expect troubleshooting with Vivint over the phone to be inferior and take up 2 to 3 of your very valuable hours holding the phone. I've had the pleasure of being on a recorded line as a Vivint employee told me it was ok that my living room sensor doesn't indicate activity in my living room and that it would be ok that my front door sensor doesn't tell me "front door open" which I find frightful and unprofessional. Good luck with having your glass break sensors work too. I found footprints in snow in my yard last winter yet no recording of activity in my yard. I've had a neighbor converse with a friend in my driveway yet there's no recording. I've merely been counting down the days to the very last day of my contract. Like seriously, I've marked it on my calendar.

The cameras are sooo slow to come on…
The cameras are sooo slow to come on line, someone could come up our driveway, rob /kill us,"drink a beer" and be gone before the cameras are up to see who is out there. There should be a way to improve this problem

Review: Rude Technician
Review: A technician named Emilo Gonzales came to fix a camera issue and was extremely rude and disrespectful to elderly individuals (80+ years old). He did not provide any explanation about the problem or the repair process. About 10 minutes later, he abruptly pushed a table toward them and said, “Sign this.” When they asked what it was, he responded, “Just sign it because I’m done,” without offering any clarification. This behavior was unacceptable and unprofessional. Suggestion for Improvement: Technicians should be trained to communicate clearly and respectfully, especially when assisting elderly customers. They should explain the issue, the steps taken to resolve it, and what customers are signing before requesting signatures. A courteous and informative approach would greatly improve the service experience.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ISSUES WITH A SENSOR IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS OF BEING INSTALLED. HAVE CALLED ABOUT IT 4 TIMES AND NEVER GET RETURN CALLS AFTER THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO FIX IT ETC.

We felt like we were very pressured to…
We felt like we were very pressured to buy this product with very little information prior to installation and even less instruction information. Installer said door cameras would most likely not work because of our internet service. So we only have sensors but have perpetually been getting alerts that the sensors are not working. We will certainly cancel this at the first moment that we are able to do so.

Unfortunately, the job was done to perfection. Besides disconnecting the wire from my garage door the two cameras are not working or the panel.

Use any other service possible
I inherited our security system when we bought our house. I deeply regret keeping it and paying for it. After 5 years of not using it much, failed equipment, waiting over a year for a technician to fix something because they don't have any techs within 5 hours of my city, and a lot of wasted money, I decided to cancel. They (of course) offered me a generous package to stay, I said no. So they offered another package, I said no. Then they said I could have the service for free for a year, and I said that's fine. If I'm not paying for it then I guess I don't need to cancel. A year later, I (of course) have completely forgotten about it. The brain of our system actually died when we lost power earlier in the year. So nothing even works anyway. But since I forgot, I started getting "Past Due" notices. They started charging me again after the year without any notifications. No emails, no texts, nothing in the mail. When I call to cancel, I can barely understand the agent because of their thick accent. But I understood they needed pass me off to the Cancellation Department. The agent had a thick accent (which is normally totally fine, I deal with customer service agents in other countries all the time), making it difficult to understand, but they were also using some kind of microphone on the call. Their voice was very loud and distorted, as if they were overdriving the mic. Even if English was their first language, I wouldn't have been able to understand. I mentioned the difficulty of hearing them, and they tried to adjust. Whatever they did made it *slightly* better. But after about 5 minutes more of talking, it got worse, and I could no longer understand them.... I finally just hung up.... Then I tried chat on their website. They told me I need to call. LOL! The current plan is to keep not paying the bill, let the service get automatically disconnected because of delinquency, and then deal with collections. That's how bad their customer service is. I would literally rather grow debt and deal with a collections company than talk to them on the phone.

The voice echos when someone is talking…
The voice echos when someone is talking through the camera a d the deter goes off every 4 seconds over nothing. The installer was super nice and courteous. Explained everything in a simple manner ☺️👍
